A Chicago kid with a Polish heart and a global voice.
Kaeyra is Karolina Baran, born in Chicago on May 10, 2001 and raised in the city's northwest suburbs. Her family carries Polish roots from Racibórz in Silesia; her mother, a pianist and teacher, founded the ABC Music Academy where Kaeyra first sat at a keyboard at the age of six.
Piano led to guitar, flute, bass and violin, and eventually to the instrument that would carry her furthest: her voice. By eleven she was fronting a rock band; by her teens she was a two-time festival Grand Champion, an award-winning vocalist in Poland, and a viral name through her covers with Postmodern Jukebox.
She crosses genres the way she crosses continents. Pop, R&B, soul and jazz; a standing ovation on America's Got Talent, where Simon Cowell called her “star material,” and the Top 20 of American Idol. In 2022 she became the first artist of Polish heritage to play the Lollapalooza Chicago main stage, and she has returned to Poland's Top of the Top Sopot festival three summers running.
In 2024 it turned to gold. Signed to Warner Music, her single Sour topped charts across Central and Eastern Europe and was certified gold in Poland. New singles have followed almost every season since, a debut album is on the way, and in autumn 2026 she brings her story to Polish prime time on Dancing with the Stars.
